The Importance of Rewilding
Alice Koot has been living at NEP since she was 18 years old. Her husband Charlie inherited the estate in 1987 from his grandparents. He decided to change tack and do something with the land rather than battling against it all the time. The couple have ring fenced the whole 3,500 acres of farmland for rewilding. They are introducing free roaming herbivores to mimic the great herds of animals that would have roamed our landscape before human impact. And you watch this incredible mosaic of different habitats emerging.
