"I feel like a lot of the music that's out there with the big publishers, you know, is nice and it's fine. But i don't know that there's a lot of these composers that put a lot of thought, sometimes, into the playability of a song," he says. "i've really tried to approach most of my arrangements now as saying, kay, can i sit down and play this without having to practise my guts out in order? And i think it's helping somebody be successful at the piano and with that music that they're playing is really the secret sauce."
