Stahelsky and Leach were the co-directors of John Wick now they went into this with a view of making this particularly real. They knew that they wanted the fighting in John Wick to have a rawness and an edge that had just been lacking from so many American films. preparation was key for Keanu Reeves as well as Leach told the film stage that Reeves went through four or five months of analyzing the script talking through it John Wick's character who is John Wick.
