How to Be a Friend to Yourself

There's something in the middle between writing your own flavor text and improving an entire description of a location. Don't worry too much about trying to find the exact right descriptions for things. Jotting down one or two word descriptions of the location when you're prepping a game can be helpful. Be nice to yourself, remember that players are just having a good time with their friends so don't worry toomuch about being perfect at it. A lot of times we misspeak and say stuff and our players laugh and we laugh with it and we just go with it. It might really empower the character based on the fact that they rolled like a 22 instead of like a 12 where they're
