Is There a Stress Response?

There's two hormonal arms to the stress response. If you inject, if somebody gets an asthmatic attack and they can't breathe, you inject up an ephrain. Minutes later within a minute, they're experiencing relief. There's another arm to the Stress response involves steroids, things like cortisol. And that takes longer that takes hours to have fuller effects over days and weeks chronic stress build up. That kind of strong chronic stress drives fact position.

Dr. David Ludwig is an endocrinologist and researcher at Boston Children's Hospital. He's a Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Professor of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health.
