The Dilemma of Powerful Storytelling

Dilemma is the key to powerful story telling with characters. There is no happily ever after in complex, engaging stories. Often you've got to do quite a bit of thinking and writing to get to the point of understanding a character well enough to narrow your description down to just a few sentences. In the show notes and in the community, i've posted a hand out that i use in my classes called more than 20 questions for characters. And that comes from the very same chapter in drawing words and writing pictures my text book as the original trish illustrations that sparked the whole saga.
