What Makes Peggy's Memoir Work?
Brooke: What makes Peggy's memoir work is that it is a personal story. Sheering a sheep turns out to be a major undertaking. As is every single other part of the process of making a sweater from start to finish by hand. So her book and many books like this they have these larger points and more ambitious goals beyond just the fact of the experiment itself. Brooke: I think part of the industry's ambivalence about memoirs have to do with the fact that they're self focused in a sense.
