The Unique Adaptation of Tardigrade Proteins

When these animals are drying out, they start making a whole bunch of a very specific protein. These proteins have sort of a long cumbersome name, which is cytoplasmic abundant heat soluble proteins or C-A-H-S proteins. They're unique to tardigrades and it doesn't look like any other organisms in nature have them.
