How to Be a Better Teacher by Listening to Your Students' Experiences

Kids aren't empty vessels you know they come with pre-existing knowledge and each one's a little bit different with what they come to the table with so basically we're just building into their knowledge. Some of them have had experiences that predispose them to be to move faster in music and others don't. They really do appreciate hearing about things you do and they they respond when you share something that's powerful like if I tell a story about a piece that made me cry once or made me want to be a music teacher they listen a little bit more because they want to know what it was what what affected him.
