The Effect of Tempo on Hypertrophy

There's really not that much or this is kind of a paucity of research on tempo. But the made analysis that we did, and this is going back now, I think to 2014 and 15, so almost 10 years, did not show much of any difference between tempos up to around eight seconds. Having what's called a mind muscle connection, squeezing the muscle as you're doing the rep has greater hypertrophy effects. That's called an internal focus of attention. Whereas having an external focus of attention where you're thinking about the outcome is more beneficial to strength or power.
