I find that quite surprising when you say that they're found in the Arctic, because we generally think that insects can't really hack those really cold environments. But if you know half the insects in the Arctic then are flies, that's incredible. Whether they can find them 5,000 metres up mountains, I've collected flies from mountains and Peru. They're both so purely terrestrial, it's flies at three millimetres. You've got they exist everywhere. And that's you get them in the sea as well.
