The History of Prom

I think culturally prom and the significance that we've given to it has sort of replaced weddings so there is something romantic about losing your virginity on prom night because you've gone through this like ritual together as a pair. The main Tom Foolery thing that I'm thinking about those like senior pranks are a pretty tame form of Tom Foolery to me. There's this idea of spiking the punch which is a bit mythological.
