Is Hong Kong a British Holly?
"I was a four year old child. And because of how young I was, you know, when I was writing about it, a lot of the memories are really some of my earliest memories," she says. "And so 1997 was to hand over Hong Kong from being a British holly at the time to being part of China again." She adds that her predominant memory is just how quickly afterwards his father secured passports for us.
