Madam Marcell's Story
When Madam Marcell began her work in New York, abortion prior to the quickening was just considered a misdemeanor. The Comstock laws had been passed and you could not send anything obscene through the mail. Abortion is something that has been very common through all of history. All you can really do by banning it is make it less safe.
