In the UK, there is a metropolitan view of that country in which reporters seem like they're going to Newcastle on some sort of fascinating anthropological trip. And if the media had been based in Wisconsin, they might have got a different perspective. You've got to both make sure you are porous and accessible to views around the country and also that you're intellectually curious enough to want to find out what's going on. Yes, I don't want to be too pessimistic because I think you can do it.
