Bacon Was Not Shakespeare
Twain didn't really do much to move the Baconian theory forward. The fact that the theory relied so heavily on the existence of a secret cipher meant that it eventually stopped gaining converts. To this day there is still no credible evidence connecting Sir Francis Bacon to the plays, but alone suggesting that he was leading a group of anti-monarchist revolutionaries. So I think we can safely say that Bacon was not Shakespeare.
