The Future of Driving

A society in which the engagement of labor saving devices as a constant form of life actually is laborious and done constantly makes for more labor for everyone. I was just reading Matthew Crawford's why we drive and he sees a trend which seems likely to me that it's going to occur on a lighter scale. As cars and driving becomes more and more of an automated capital intensive task where you're sort of pushing a button, this will become the province of the people who are wealthy enough to be able to afford not to have to drive them.
