Breast Cancer Screening
Dr. Laura esterman is not a fan of the current medical recommendation that calls for every woman over forty to receive an annual mamogram. Her hypothesis is that it would save more lives and result in less harm if each woman was instead given a personalized screening schedule based on factors including age, genetics, family history and breast density. Like many medical researchers, eseman is aware that the majority of canter studies have not had significant representation from black or brown patients.
