The book that you're holding there is the new edition of a book I originally wrote ten years ago. When I was rewriting it last year, or let's say some of my thinking had been thrown into relief by Margaret Heffernan and a podcast I'd listened to. The bouquet here is one of being displaced or marginal or fugitive and the movement and the stuff like, oh, I just got a divorce, I guess I'm just going to go backpacking around the world.
