The History of the Yahhi People

Yishhi was found alone and near starving by a butcher in Oraville in North California. He was given a home at the University of California's Anthropology Museum where he was studied by anthropologists for his native crafts. Unfortunately because he was uncontacted he was sick a lot and hospitalized many times between 1911 and 1916 everything from respiratory infections, bronchonomonia, various body pains and then tuberculosis.
