The Difference Between General and Contextualized Emotion Goals

Within the realm of emotion goals, there are general and contextualized emotion goals. In a confrontation context, for example, I might be motivated to experience anger in order to confront the person taking advantage of me. Or, if I'm working on a project with other people, I might want to feel happy because I know that by feeling happiness, I'm going to be able to collaborate with others better. So we need to look at first, whether our goal is attainable, and second, the emotion that wants to help us achieve it.
