To Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice
The only way to get to real sacrifice is by passing through obedience along the way. My first mission president taught me that, and i still remember this interview with him as a young missionary. Obedience is what prepares you for sacrifice. It's what sanctifies the sacrifice that make because your heart's in the right place. You're not even in a place where you're able or worthy to offer real, meaningful sacrifice.
