The History of the Hapsburg Dynasty
The hapsburgs were able to capitalize again, for some degree, to some degree, on this turkish decline. The dynasty eventually formally ended when there was no male heir in 17 forty. And rule was passed to a female heir, maria teresa, who took up the thrones as empress and ruled from 17 40 to 17 80. After she died, a rule passed down to her heirs, leopold, later joseph. But technically they were not part of the hapsburg dynasty because their father was from an alternative house, the house of lorraine.
