Obama ran a first of its kind campaign in a lot of different ways. Obama had gotten the blessing of party leaders like ted kennedy before declaring his run. He thought, you know what? If we build a grass roots movement, we couple that with the power of internet to both organize people, but also on the fund raising and communication side, that we can maybe compete with better funded, more institutionally powerful candidates.

Politics and entrepreneurship have much in common: Both versions of scale leadership require strategic patience, hard work, a clear vision of a better future, an unshakable belief that you can bring that future to life – and the ideal opportunity to make it all come together.
