Tom Cruise is a great Waldo Pepper fan. He missed where he was supposed to crash and hit a real pole. George Ray Hill said, you know, it was a much better looking shot than I could have ever hoped for. If anybody's gonna be able to match what they did, what Frank Talman did as a pilot and George Ray Hilldid as a pilot filmmaker, it's probably Tom Cruise and his team.
