The Death of the Monarchy

The argument that a political revolution to overthrow a monarchy will only succeed if the specific human currently reigning as monarch dies in the process is disproven by plenty of historical revolutions. The monarch, literally living or dying, is a variable that just floats independently of any causal relationship to the larger cycle of revolutionary events. A monarchy doesn't end with the death of the last king, but rather when enough people stop believing in the monarchy. It didn't matter whether nicholas romanoff lived or died, the monarchy was dead.
