James is a modern name, which is a medieval abbreviation of the Latin word for Jacob. So there are no Jameses, there are just Jacobs. If you were to stumble into a Jacobite tavern they would be singing Dear Jimmy as one of their songs. You also had much more private demonstration, so you could wear a little locket around your neck containing a nice portrait,. either of James II and the 8th, or his son, or his grandson. Is there a dress code? Yeah, so there is sort of a dress code. Another public display of Jacobite affinity was the Tartan and the Kilt that'd be worn mostly by Scottish people.
