The Origins of Crusading
In the 14th century, crusading was a huge deal in medieval society and culture. The idea that violence could be religiously justified helped make violence morally acceptable to them. Crusading grew ever more integrated into Shivalric, nightly culture. Fighting against pagans, seracens and other unbelievers was praiseworthy activity for any good night.
