The Status Quo: A Material Force in the World

I was recently reading on the Attica prison massacre, the book A Time to Die. And there's a few paragraphs saying like there's nothing as dangerous as a bureaucracy trying to defend itself. So they thought they could win everything except replacing the prison supervisor at Attica because that was way too muchBecause it was a bureaucratic claim. It just measures very well with this. I think something very important that Stafford is contributing here is that he's picking out the status quo,. right, as kind of a material force in the world. Like it is a real thing.
