I think there are limits to the amount of fluid that you can effectively deliver in this setting. We chose to standardize our intervention by volume so that it would be standardized, but I think it's a valid question and one we didn't address. If anyone else has a very strong feeling that more fluid or an echo before intubation would change the effect, I very much encourage them to try to deliver that intervention in a trial.
