The Threat of AI Generating Fiction

GPT three has an extremely short attention span, it can sort of maintain a train of thought over a few sentences, but it loses that you know over a page. To write a novel would require like maybe an entirely different approach than GPT uses. But more generally, what is the threat that AI generated fiction might pose to human authors? I don't think most people asking that are. Or at least I guess in the context that you're talking about.
