In 2021, low and middle income countries had very few vaccines. The richest countries were rolling out third doses. By late 2021, some of the middle income countries or upper middle income countries like South Africa did increase their number of vaccines. But still, when I decided to go report this story in April of 2022, the lowest income countries still hadvery few vaccines. And there's still countries I think when I went to Malawi, it was at 5% vaccinated,. DRC, South Sudan, those were all like somewhere around 1% vaccinated.
