Parents burst into their child's room, where they find their kid now fully awake and crying. The parents in that story didn't want any identifiable information about themselves known. They were scared the stranger over their monitor might be able to physically track them down from it. There are actually worse examples out there of hackers yelling obscenities at kids through monitors.
