The History of the Watnabe Family

Watnabe Notsuna was an actual historical figure who lived about a thousand years ago. He has been vastly overshadowed by legends and folktales describing his exploits with Minamoto No Yori Mitsu. The Watnabe family were likely descendants of agents sent by the owners of Shōin Estates to manage their interest in Osaka area. They then realized there was nothing really stopping them from just taking the joint over.
