The Principle of Pure Existence
There is nothing outside of pure existence to which it's sound to subject for multiplication. That then means that if there is something that's pure existence, there could have mostly one and only one. But we're not done there yet because we were just entertaining this as a hypothesis. Thomas thinks his job is done there. He's 30 years old. He's writing for his brothers. Right? The principle here is not an order to multiply something. In order to multiply x, you need to have some sort of feature or principle to which x is subject which will multiply it. You need something independent of the thing which without it to multiplies it.
