A Choral Response to the Baritone in the Third Movement
The third movement begins in a striking way, as for the first time in this densely scored piece, we hear a solo voice. A baritone intones the text, quote, lord teach me that there must be an d of me, and my life has a term, and i must go hence this music is desperately lonely.
