Brendan O'Neill: In this next part I just want to kind of look at different focus areas and then for each one address common teacher misconceptions or mistakes that you kind of come across quite often. Then if you can provide some top tips for teachers that'd be great as well so the first one I just wants to look at is reading. He says it does everybody a lot of favors to keep talking about why we have things like the reading wars, because people think children will learn to read in a biologically primary way but they don't. The more explicit you are and the better and more systematic your scope and sequence is the more children you're going to take along," he says.
