I Don't Know How to Prove a Negative
The idea is how do you prove there aren't weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? It's much easier to go. There they are. But your job, let's call it, or the intelligence community's job at that point would be to say they're not there. So I don't know how we were supposed to prove a negative. That's the part we got wrong. We didn't write about Iraq as a place. And it's a bureaucracy. Everybody lies to everybody in the Saddam government. And we pick up the lies.
