The Importance of Filipino Culture in My Writing
You were born and raised in Manila before moving to New York. So how does your experience as an immigrant in your Filipino culture influence your writing? It influences it a lot because on kind of the fundamental level, my exposure to science fiction writing or mystery writing was always from a foreigner's point of view. The sleepless is not like that per se because it is set in New York. But with a Filipino American lead character, but that is a question that I always ask myself.
