The people with the most serious illnesses quite literally lack the ability to speak and no one in those spaces is speaking for them other than in the most generalized terms. The parents who struggle every day to keep these kids alive are given no opportunity to speak. They get run out of online autism spaces because they try to say, Hey, look, it's fine if your autism is not a problem, but my kids autism is a problem.
