Intonation is the melody. And it's a part of a larger idea that is called prosody. Prosody is like the opposite of pronunciation. It's rhythm, connected speech, stress. All of these things comprise your speech and their considered prosody. I often refer to it as intonation, but to be honest, intonation is just the melody.
