Existence comparativism says that it can be worse or better for somebody to exist rather than not. The character i'm calling the existence comparatives one who goes all the way and accepts both of those things. But you're right that the second thing strikes people as stranger than the first. They might find it weird to say it's terrible, but they would say it's worse if some nonexistent person didn't have a bad life. Maybe not terrible, but worse. That seems weirder than saying 'it's so great for me that i get to exist'
