Doesn't Medicaid Pay for Nursing Homes?
No family member under the law is responsible for stay of a loved one in a nursing home. Assistive living, which so many people stay in and may refer to as nursing homes, it's a different issue. On the issue of Medicaid, there are a lot of nursing homes that will not accept Medicaid patients. There are places that say once you're in, they won't boot you out when you reach the eligibility for Medicaid.
