The Senate Vote to Repeal the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force

Senator Rand Paul's resolution to repeal the 2001 AUMF failed in a vote of nine to eighty six with only four Republicans, four Democrats and one independent supporting their little legislation. The vote came ahead of the Senate voting on a repeal of the 1991 and 2002 Iraq AUMFs but that's just repealing those is just a symbolic move because those authorizations are not used to wage war today. President Biden previously claimed article two of the Constitution as his authority to justify airstrikes against Shia militias in Iraq and Syria which is just wild to me.
