The Relationship Between Number and Noun Class and Gender
In english we use plural when there's more than one so you can say like one and a half days apparently in french it has to be two or more. There are some languages in which all number distinctions are obliterated in a negative clause for example. In european languages number and noun class and gender may interact in complex ways.
