The Mission of Barnabas and Saul in Antioch
After stephen's death, christians scattering throughout the empire began to spread the gospel as they went. Antioch was a very natural location to go if you wanted to reach jews of the diaspera. Proselytes and godfearers similar to people like cornelius were now being brought into the orbit of the gospel message. Disputes in antioch will later precipitate the calling of the jerusalem council.
