Nur sultan nazarbew has been in charge since the soviet union ended. He stayed in power too long, became too autocratic, and his family became enormously corrupt. The protests have led to country wide protests on a far larger scale than kasistein has seen since it became independent 30 years ago. But we still see large scale peaceful protests throughout the country. And people understand that's the most effective way to express rview.
