In the church, the questions of housing and vocation have been grafted together for centuries as alice goodman explains. More than one curate in the church of england right now is becoming homeless as a curacy comes to an end without another job on the horizon. The house, be it rectory, vicar or curate's house, is first of all a dwelling place.
