I've also had situations where I approached a friend who was telling me about how bad their relationship had gotten, like truly sharing really toxic fights that had gone on and core compatibility issues. And they sounded very clear in talking through all of that with me about the fact that this person was not right for them anymore. So because they felt clear, I was doing my thing that I talked about earlier, which is like, I'm hearing this from you, so I'm going to affirm it. It hurt me that they didn't kind of like trust me enough to even still be there for them when they chose a different path.
