Is the Chinese Room Computable?

There's an interesting philosophical paradox there, actually. If you can explain how a human does something like that, then you can build a machine to do it. So implicit in this search for that is the belief that it will be a computable thing. I think Searle is quite transparent. He just doesn't think computers can ever be intelligent. The Chinese room is just one of those things. And so we're trying to see if we can kind of jumpstart.
